The Mighty Lemon Drops, se forme en 1985 à Wolverhampton, la même année sort leur premier single "like an angel" sur Dreamworld, en deux formats avec trois faces b différentes. (et excellentes) Parmi celles ci figure "now she's gone" sur le 45tours, 3 minutes et 16 secondes de rock nerveux trempant dans le garage, le post punk, et l'indie à base de rickenbacker malmenées et tranchantes comme des rasoirs. Les Mighty Lemon Drops en 1985 et 86 sont au meilleurs de leur formes, ils arrivent à intégrer intelligemment des références 60s tout en sonnant contemporain, et bien agressif, bref, il est temps de réévalué favorablement le milieu des années 80! Et pourquoi pas commencer en écoutant My Biggest Thrill et Like an Angel?

Now she's gone, is the b-side of the 7 inches of the first MLD single "like an angel" in 1985. The Mighty Lemon Drops were formed the same year in Wolverhampton. The next year they had a deal with chrysalis, and released their first and excellent lp "happy head". At that time the band sounds like a cool mix of post-punk, current indie and 60s rock, with an agressive feeling and that very nice Rickenbacker sound! It's time to rediscover the mid 80s guys!
