Archie Bell and the Drells - I can't stop dancing (1968)

Archie Bell and the Drells sont un groupe de soul originaire du Texas, ils font en 1968 un premier tube avec le classique "Tighten it up", par la suite ils sont repérés par le duo Huff & Gamble artisants du son Philly dans les seventies (o jays, harold melvin and the blue notes, billy paul...) qui signent la production de leurs morceaux suivants tels que le génial I can't stop dancing. Ce titre est une bombe soul, mélancolique mais uptempo, plus proche spirituellement de Detroit et sa soul très pop que de la southern crade de Memphis.

Archie Bell and the Drells is a texan soul band from the end of 60's. In 1968 they do their first big hit with the unforgivable Tighten it up, the same year Gamble and Huff (the best known producers of the Philly Sound) produce I can't stop dancing, a wonderfull uptempo piece of soul, an another massive hit in the USA.
